He is presented in the play as the kings adviser. MALIGU is avaricious in character as he plans evil with Soko because of money. He weaves the fake story of the gods only to pave way to enrich himself. Not withstanding his position in the palace, he goes into dangerous act to defame the culture of his people. He works in partnership with white head to drag the villagers, and fight without ceasing to eliminate kendo but fails.
He is the priest of the land. An evil collaborator who defies the sacredness of his priestly vocation and join maligu to lie against the gods and his people. He lives on the sacrifices of Mando villagers and at the same time works towards their ruin. He is survived by many children without a son to succeed him. He is a weak minded priest who sells his conscience because of money.
(1iv) MR WHITE HEAD:
He is both the white man and the stranger who comes to mando village. He conceals and interior motive of exploiting the natural resources of the people(diamond) as against his false tobacco family with which he deceives the people. He is an evil collaborator with maligu and Soko who buys their minds with money. He uses hard drug, gin and tobacco to make mando people succumb to him. He hatches plan to destro kendo. He is instrumental to the death of Soko and paker. White head reaps what he sows and he is slain by kendo. He is the dramatic blood of a stranger.
Theme of racism:
It us truism that hansbery uses. Mr Lindner’s character to portray racial discrimination. The caretakers of the younger new neighborhood uses Mr Lindner to prevent the family from relocating to their new house. This is because the neighborhood is all white residence and for colour reasons. Mr Lindner is used by chybourne park improvement association to bribe the younger family which threatens to tear them apart and the value for which it stands. By younger family responding to such racial discrimination with defiance, demonstrate that the best way to fight racism is open resistance against it. In the light of the above, racism must be abhorred by everybody. Conversely we should show equal love for one another irrespective of tribe colour and religious affiliation.
Use of symbolisms
Most of the expressions in the poem have symbolic under tones examples are ” a gun wound” symbolises the painful aftermath of bad leadership. ” my boots ” symbolize strength and zeal. “Nile” symbolises nationalistic instinct and enthusiasm. “Scorpions” symbolises unbearable life of agony.
Shakespeare sonnet generally explore the relationship between humans and nature and the passing if time. In his poem Shakespeare shows the beauty of this young woman by comparing her to a summers day. In line 2 he states that she’s more beautiful and calm than the summer and in line 3 – 6 displays some of the faults in summer. Such as the rough winds(line 3) and the heat. He also suggest that all beauty will eventually fade except for the beauty of this young Lady and that she will not die until her beauty is no longer there
